My Community Cares, a program of Volunteers for Youth Justice, is excited to announce its upcoming Be Strong Parent Cafe. The event will take place at the AB Palmer Recreation Center on Thursday, September 5th, from 5 – 6:30 pm.

This month’s theme, “Pulling the Ones You Love Closer: Making Your Home a Refuge,” focuses on fostering a nurturing and supportive home environment. Parents and caregivers are invited to join this engaging and informal gathering to discuss strategies, share experiences, and connect with others in similar situations.

Attendees will have the opportunity to:

  • Engage in meaningful conversations with fellow parents.
  • Enjoy a variety of refreshments and snacks.
  • Participate in a chance to win one of several door prizes.

Please note that this event is specifically for parents, and no childcare will be provided.

If you are unable to attend, we encourage you to spread the word to other parents who might benefit from this supportive community gathering.

For more information, please contact Kreesha Bennett, Parish Director at My Community Cares, at 318-725-4267 ext. 405 or kreesha.bennett@vyjla.org.
