My Community Cares (MCC), a program of Volunteers for Youth Justice, would like to invite the community to the upcoming Anchor Team Meeting, which will take place Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 9:00 AM at St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral, 908 Rutherford, Shreveport, LA 71101.
The Anchor Team Meeting is part of MCC’s ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration and coordination between local organizations and agencies, to provide better services and support for children and families in the Shreveport-Bossier area. The Anchor Team is a vital part of a three-tier structure including the Neighborhood Team and Parish Support Team. Members of the Anchor Team include local representatives from government, DCFS, courts, businesses, service and healthcare providers, emergency responders, churches, schools, nonprofits, community members, child welfare stakeholders, neighborhood residents, and individuals with lived experience in the child welfare system.
The purpose of the Anchor Team is to foster communication, identify gaps and barriers in services, and work alongside neighborhood teams to build a robust network of accessible services. These efforts ensure that the needs of children and families in the parish are met effectively.
Additionally, Hope House Frontliners has generously offered MCC the opportunity to update stakeholders on its ongoing efforts to support families and individuals in the community. This meeting, which will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, will also provide attendees with the chance to network and learn more about other community providers.
