Volunteers for Youth Justice (VYJ) is thrilled to announce our partnership with the much-celebrated Artport event and its upcoming Opening Night Auction, marking Artport’s much-anticipated return to Shreveport Regional Airport in June 2025. As this year’s auction beneficiary, VYJ is honored to join the Shreveport arts community in celebrating local talent while raising funds to support our mission of providing a community caring for children, youth, and families in crisis across Northwest Louisiana.
Artport, a renowned event that has raised over $135,000 for local causes over its previous 15 installments, is returning with the inspiring theme “In Southern Dimension,” celebrating Shreveport’s past, present, and future. With this year’s focus on the future of our community, VYJ is especially honored to be recognized as a partner in Artport’s vision for a brighter, stronger tomorrow.
“Volunteers for Youth Justice’s commitment to serving the next generation aligns seamlessly with Artport’s vision for community revitalization and growth,” said Kelli Todd, Executive Director for VYJ. “This partnership enables us to continue providing life-changing programs and resources to youth and families who need them most.”
The Opening Night Auction will feature original works from local artists and students, unique Shreveport-centric experiences, and exclusive items, including art pieces, custom bourbon bottles, sports and entertainment packages, and more. 100% of auction proceeds will support VYJ’s critical programs, which provide advocacy, mentorship, life skills, and resources to empower local youth and strengthen families.
Founded in 1981, VYJ has become a cornerstone of support and hope in Shreveport, operating six vital programs: CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), FINS (Family in Need of Service), MCC (My Community Cares), TASC (Truancy Assessment Service Center), YEC (Youth Empowerment Center), and Youth Programs. Each of these programs addresses urgent needs and helps to create positive, long-lasting change in the lives of those we serve.
Mark your calendars for June 2025 and join us at the Shreveport Regional Airport for an unforgettable night celebrating the power of art and community impact. Together with Artport, we look forward to empowering children and families in Northwest Louisiana and fostering a brighter future for our region.
