VYJ’s My Community Cares to Host Another Be Strong Parent Café

Volunteers for Youth Justice’s My Community Cares (MCC), invites parents and caregivers to its next Be Strong Parent Café, a supportive space for conversations about building resiliency and connections. The event will take place at Mamie Hicks Recreation Center, 200 Mayfair Drive, Shreveport, LA 71107, on Tuesday, November 12th, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. This month’s theme is ‘Weathering the Storm.’

The Be Strong Parent Café offers parents a safe, non-judgmental environment to discuss parenting challenges and successes while focusing on key themes such as resilience—bouncing back from difficult times—and social connections—building a reliable support network. This event is for parents only, and no children will be admitted.

Attendees can expect engaging conversations, laughter, free food, and door prizes. Space is limited, so RSVP is required. Parents can RSVP by contacting Kreesha Bennett at (318) 725-4267 ext. 405.

“We are excited to provide a welcoming space where parents can share experiences, connect with others, and gain the support they need to navigate parenting challenges,” said Kreesha Bennett, Parish Director of My Community Cares.

My Community Cares is aligned with the broader mission of Volunteers for Youth Justice, which is to provide a community caring for children, youth, and families in crisis. The program seeks to empower families by fostering stronger connections within the community and promoting resources that help families thrive.
